The The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd (SANRAL) Scholarship programme was initiated with the aim of providing sponsorships for learners with an aptitude towards Maths and Science. It also aims to create opportunities for tertiary studies in certain engineering fields namely civil, electronic/computer, electrical and transportation. In addition, the scholarship programme seeks to build progressive relationships with these learners from an early stage.The scholarship programme is for learners who want to follow a career in engineering, with particular reference to civil, transport, electronic/computer and electrical engineering
SANRAL is committed to developing skills of learners who express an interest in studying and building a career with SANRAL or similar organisations, within the built environment; specifically in the fields of Road Infrastructure Administration, Intelligent Transport System, Environment and Civil Engineering industry.
You bring Excellent Academic Results to the table, so what does SANRAL offer in return with the scholarship?
As part of the scholarship, SANRAL is responsible for the school fees, books and stationery, as well as school and sports uniforms of the learners. SANRAL also arranges for learners to attend beneficial, extra curricular activities and gala dinners/ luncheon. Please note that SANRAL does not pay for the learners’ parents travel arrangements and accommodation for the luncheon. No additional items will be paid for i.e. day to day transport, Ipad, Tablet, Laptop and Cellphone.
The scholarship programme is offered to pupils from Grade 10 to 12 who achieve the following:
- Maths – 70 – 75% and above
- Physical science 70 – 75% and above
- English – 65% and above
- Overall average of – 75% and above
