City of Johannesburg: Learnership Programme 2023

Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo is offering Horticulture Learnership to unemployed South Africans in possession of a Grade 12 / Matric certificate or equivalent and reside in the Johannesburg region. The ages must be between 18 to 35 years. The duration of the learnership will be Twelve months (12 months).

Stipend: R3 500 per month.

Training will be provided in the following:

• Health and Safety in Horticultural Environment;
• Identification of plants and cultivation & care of ornamental plants;
• Condition & prepare soils for planting;
• Use fertilizers on plants;
• Chemical and mechanical removal of weeds and alien plants;
• Mixing and application of herbicides and pesticides;
• Laying and maintenance of grass sods;
• Mowing lawns and Pruning plants.

Requirements:

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate or NQF L4
• Must be a South African citizen
• Must be between 18 to 35 years.
• Must be currently unemployed
